Scholarships at University of Surrey

This master’s in Advanced Mechanical Engineering is designed for training industry-ready graduates and future leaders. Offering a flexible curriculum designed to allow students to align their learning to chosen career aspirations, whilst, developing industry quality skills working on projects addressing real-world engineering challenges. 

This award will be offered automatically as a £7,500 fee waiver to offer holders of Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc for 2025 entry only.

Eligibility criteria

The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 fee waiver. It is open to self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile. The scheme is application based and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel. The panel will assess previous academic performance, predicted grades and the personal statement to make their decision.

Eligibility criteria

In order to be eligible applicants must:

• Be an overseas fee-paying student.

• Hold an offer to study a full-time bachelors degree programme at FHEQ Level 4 (first-year entry).

• Be self-funded (you must be paying for your studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship).

• This Scholarship is not open to students from Surrey International Study Centre (SISC).

• Applicants in receipt of the International Excellence scholarship will not be eligible for any other Surrey Scholarship.

The panel will assess previous academic performance, work experience, any awards and accolades, including the personal statement to make their decision.

Eligibility criteria

The Antonio Carluccio Foundation are providing scholarships of £4,000 each for undergraduate students undertaking their Professional Training Year (PTY) in 2025/2026.

Eligibility criteria

Core eligibility for the bursary are as follows:

• Current undergraduate student about to undertake a PTY in 2025-2026.

• Has a desire to pursue a career in a restaurant, or within the food and beverage industry.

• Meet at least one of the criteria for widening participation as listed below:

  • Students from Low Participation Neighbourhoods (LPNs, defined as POLAR4 Quintiles 1 and 2 by OfS.

  • Students from an area of high deprivation (Index of Multiple Deprivation, IMD) Quintiles 1 and 2.

  • Students from a low-income family (eligible for Free School Meals in last six years).

  • Care leavers and students in local authority care.

  • From families where parents/carers are in non-professional households (NS-SEC groups 4-8).

  • From families with no parental history of HE participation.

  • Students classified as having a disability.

  • Young carers.

  • Mature learners.

  • Refugees and asylum seekers.

  • Students estranged from their families.

  • Students who have a parent/carer who has served in the armed forces or reserves.

  • Students from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic backgrounds.

  • Students from Gypsy, Roma or Irish Traveller (GRT) communities.

  • Students who identify as a New Traveller, Boater, Bargee or Showperson.

• Be an overseas fee-paying student domiciled in one of the following countries: Algeria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam and Zimbabwe

• Hold an offer to study a full time degree programme at Surrey in September 2025. This should be either a Bachelor degree at FHEQ Level 4 (first-year entry) or a full-time Master’s degree, taught on-campus in Guildford

• Be self-funded (you must be paying for your studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship)

• This Scholarship is not open to students from Surrey International Study Centre (SISC)

• Applicants in receipt of the Future Leaders scholarship will not be eligible for any other Surrey Scholarship. 

This scholarship cannot be combined with the alumni discount.
